The Arkansas Epsilon chapter of SigEp at Arkansas Tech University began their semester by putting together a solid recruitment plan that worked around COVID restrictions. Each week, they tabled at the bell tower and hosted events for potential new members. They ended recruitment by bringing in the biggest class in Arkansas Tech spring recruitment history at 24 new members! The chapter was then able to give out 3 snap bids throughout the semester. With the addition of this new class, SigEp was able to pay off all outstanding debt and become financially free.
SigEp was also recognized by winning some awards for their stellar semester: one national award, the Frank J. Ruck Leadership award, and two local awards, the most improved chapter at Arkansas Tech, and the Greek Week service award.
SigEp hosted a car bash this semester in order to bring awareness to the implications of drunk driving, had a few snow days, spent time with the kids at the Boys & Girls Club, hosted their annual Founder’s Day dinner, participated in the “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” sexual assault prevention walk, hosted moms day where the brothers and their moms ate lunch at old bank, followed by bowling at Strikers bowling alley, and ended the semester by winning the co-ed intramural softball championship.
The brothers worked hard all semester to improve their chapter and are seeing steady results. It’s a great time to be a SigEp at Arkansas Tech. SigEp plans to keep this momentum rolling into next semester.
